The Coudoulet vineyard is immediately adjacent to the Chateau de Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape vineyard but was not included in the appellation created in 1936. On the same limestone plateau with the same galets the Coudoulet is a blend of 30% Mourvdre, 30% Grenache, 20% Syrah & 20% Cinsault made in the same way as the Beaucastel Chateauneuf.
