Aster laevis 'Bluebird' (Smooth Aster) attracts-hummingbirds and incredible flowering habitThis lovely native Aster forms a clump of smooth leaved, upright, blue green foliage that remains attractive through the season. Clusters of light blue flowers appear on 2 4' tall stems in late summer into fall. An early season trim will keep it closer to 2 3' tall. Otherwise, staking may be necessary. Smooth Aster is drought resistant and a valued host to many pollinators. Plant 18" apart. Photos Courtesy of Mary Hall. Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun
